RDS has designed a package that will help you to meet the criteria for the Level 3 Award in the Safe Use of Mechanical Restraints (handcuffs) or to carry out refresher training for your team. A power point with all relevant videos and knowledge is supplied via dropbox. This will enable you to select as much or as little of the materials dependent upon whether you are delivering ‘accredited’ or ‘in house’ training. You will also be provided with a set of hinged handcuffs which are of the specification supported by RDS Training Ltd. This course is designed for individuals who already hold the following qualifications: Level 3 Award in Education & Training Level 3 Award in Delivery of Conflict Management Level 3 Award in the Delivery of Physical Intervention (DS or CP) An annual licence agreement will be issued to enable you to use the RDS materials for one year and the usual support will be available. If you do not already hold the Level 3 Award in the Safe Use of Mechanical Restraints (handcuffs) you will be required to complete the workbook for RDS to be able to claim your certificate. Please note this is a pain compliant course. No more force than is necessary will be used during this course but some parts, particularly if you chose to resist during a practical, will hurt. During the course you will be taught the RDS techniques and your knowledge will be confirmed. The initial course will be two days but annual refreshers will be one day courses. Alternative locations can be requested for a minimum of 6 people
