Service Description

Must hold a valid L3 First Aid at Work or equivalent that has not expired by more than one month. This course is for anyone who has held a close protection SIA licence within the last three years who needs to renew their SIA licence. If your licence has lapsed for more than three years you will need to take a full SIA course again. This course consists for four units: Unit 1: Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry. ACT Awareness and ACT Security must have been completed within the previous 12 months and certificates supplied to RDS prior to the course. There is also a workbook to complete. This unit is assessed by multiple choice. 35 questions in 55 minutes pass mark of 22 Unit 2: Application of Physical Intervention Skills in The Private Security Industry. Assessed by teacher observation and multiple choice exam. 30 questions. Pass mark is 24. Unit 3: Application of Physical Intervention Skills for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry. Assessed by teacher observation and multiple choice exam. 20 questions. Pass mark is 16. This training requires a reasonable level of physical fitness. It does not exclude people with disabilities but all injuries must be notified in advance of the course. RDS Training Ltd will not be held liable for any injuries that were not reported prior to or during the course. The level 2 Award for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) is developed by the SIA and therefore has the same ID requirements as a full SIA course. Consequently, you must produce as proof of identity one group A document and two group B documents on the first day of training.
