Why is this change happening? From 1 April 2021 onwards, the SIA will introduce new licence–linked qualifications. These have been introduced to ensure professionals within the private security industry have a stronger skill set required for the role. This includes the ability to manage potential risks and changes caused by new technology. What new topics will be introduced Health and Safety procedures Communication skills Incident management Citizens’ arrest Protecting vulnerable people Emergency procedures Record keeping COVID-19 What is top-up training? Top-up training will be additional training to ensure current Door Supervisor are updated to 2021. You must e-mail you 1st Aid certifcate & have completed ACT awareness. https://ct.highfieldelearning.com/ Please note: This training requires a reasonable level of physical fitness. This course consists of 3 Units (instant exam results and free re-sits on the day if required) Unit 1 – Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry. This unit is completed by online ACT training, and this must be completed before the course Unit 2 – Principles of Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor. Pre course reading will be sent to you and a workbook which will be completed in during the course. This unit is assessed by a multiple choice examination of 5 questions, of which you must achieve a minimum mark of 3. Unit 3 – Application of Physical intervention in the Private Security Industry – 13 contact hours. The unit is assessed by a multiple choice exam of 30 questions, of which you must achieve a minimum of .
