RDS Training is launching a series of Health and Social Care Courses which are appropriate for Carers, Support Workers and Managers working in the Health & Social Care environment in Hull and East Yorkshire area.
RDS Training has partnered with a Health & Social Care specialist company DJD Consultancy. This new partnership aims to provide competent, trained staff to the health and social sector.
Daniel is director of DJD and has over 20 years’ experience of working in the health care industry. He started his career as a care support worker so understands the industry from top to bottom. His skills and expertise are in crisis management, business planning, coaching, standards & compliance, and learning disabilities. Daniel has proven experience and knowledge in raising standards across the care sector which include care homes, domiciliary care, supported living and children’s services. In addition, Daniel is an accredited, qualified and experienced health and social care trainer. His main passion lies in problem solving and raising standards for care services that require help and guidance to get them back on track. Daniel has on many occasions stepped in after a CQC inspection to give the help and guidance the care service needed, and in turn raised standards and improved the quality of care provided. Daniel is passionate about the care industry overall and for people working within it and the service users it supports. DJD also have an employment agency.
Carers/ Support Workers Courses
The Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling of People is intended as an introduction to moving and handling activities for those starting work, returning to work or needing specific training in manual handling within the Health & Social Care as well as being a suitable qualification for refresher training. Persons gaining this qualification will understand that moving and handling must be carried out correctly and recognise its importance in ensuring a safer working environment.
This course is aimed at individuals and carers who are required to offer effective support to sufferers of dementia in a sensitive and understanding manner.
This course aims to give you an awareness of what dementia is and how to identify it whilst also describing best practice on how to care for someone with the condition.
This course is aimed at care workers who are involved with clients who suffer from epilepsy. Candidates will gain knowledge on the main effects of epilepsy and the importance of supporting service users to take medication as directed by their doctor. This course will also explore the different types of seizures and behaviour changes an individual may suffer from as a result of epilepsy.
This training is aimed to help providers and their staff to develop an understanding of the responsibilities and duties around the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA). This essential training is for workers involved in the care, treatment and support of adults who may lack capacity in making life decisions.
Our training offers vital support for social care providers so they comply with the Mental Capacity Act and Care Quality Commission requirements, and promote human rights.
This course aims to provide learners with the knowledge required to support the use of medication in health and social care settings. It provides information on the different types, classifications and forms of medication, as well as providing guidance on safe storage and disposal.
This course is an introductory session to raise awareness of adult mental health.
The purpose of the course is to gain the ability to effectively deliver a ‘Safe Handling of Medication course to their staff to promote competency and consistency with medication management.
The course is designed to raise awareness of issues relating to palliative care. We look at the issues that surround this sensitive subject. We take staff through the process and develop the learners understanding on areas of care planning, person centred approach, looking at a clear pathway to support the person at the end of life.
The RDS physical intervention (PI) course for challenging behaviour has been specifically designed for the care and learning disability sectors but can be also be used in any environment where staff may encounter the threat of physical assault. It is recommended that a conflict management / verbal challenging behaviour course is taken prior to the physical intervention course.
This course is designed for experienced staff that have a background in the care sector, who need to update their training.
Our training improves knowledge and practice around safeguarding adults and children from harm or neglect.
This course is designed for a wide range of learners who wish to develop their understanding of autism and the principles of supporting individuals with autism. It covers the person-centred approach and influence of positive communication methods, how to support positive behaviour and how individuals with autism can be supported to live healthy and fulfilled lives.
This training is aimed to help providers and their staff to develop an understanding of the signs and triggers of challenging behaviour. The course is designed to help individuals recognise and defuse potential challenging behaviour prior to the service user becoming violent.

The aim of this course is to give learners the knowledge and skills required to complete effective risk assessment in order to compile, understand and implement accurate care plans.
This course is aimed at heath and social care workers and healthcare professionals who work directly with people in a health and social care environment and will demonstrate how to accurately write and correctly implement care plans placing the person at the centre of their care.
This training is aimed at assisting managers and supervisors to understand what is expected of carers in regards to maintaining accurate up to date records and documents. The course will help managers and supervisors to improve their carers communication skills through the knowledge of best practice documentation and record keeping skills
A one day course that is designed to refresh a Manager’s knowledge.
A more in-depth study of duties and responsibilities under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) for senior staff and managers.
We offer a specialist training course for senior managers or newly appointed safeguarding leads who are responsible for safeguarding adults from neglect and harm.
The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace and/or to give learners personal growth and engagement in learning, specifically in relation to understanding mental health in the workplace, how mental ill-health may affect employees and how managers can support employees.
