Mental Health Awareness
This course is an introductory session to raise awareness of adult mental health.
It is designed to give you:
- An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma
- A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues
- An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing
- Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue.
The course is delivered by Mike Gill RMN:
Mike is a former Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) with over 40 years experience of working in various sectors of NHS Mental Health services and latterly for a local mental health charity.Now semi-retired, Mike currently has a part time post in the Training Team of a local NHS Trust, delivers training for various local charities and works as an independent trainer.
Most of the training is around the subject of mental health. He is an approved instructor to deliver Mental Health First Aid England products (MHFA). Currently approved to deliver Adult & Youth two day courses, Adult MH Awareness and YMHFA One Day MH Champions courses.
All successful attendees will receive a Mental Health England certificate and manual.
Cost is £75 inclusive of VAT including certificate, manual, refreshments and a light lunch.
Times of attendance are 0930hrs – 1600hrs.
