First Aid Instructor Course
The combined First Aid Instructor course is structured over 10 days from 09:00am until 16:30pm.
Week 1 – E&T and Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement
Week 2 – Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work and first aid instructor.
The E&T qualification is the minimum recognized teaching qualification by most sector skills and funding bodies. The qualification consists of 3 assessments, 2 of which should be completed prior to attending the classroom section of the First Aid Instructor course. Assessments 3 will be completed through delivery of micro teach sessions in the classroom.
If you already hold the E&T the assessing qualification can be achieved during the first aid week (week 2) of the course. Please state when booking whether you require two weeks training or just the second week.
The level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement also has some pre-course work for unit 1 and a micro teach session which will be standardised in the classroom with the other learners for unit 3.
The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work and first aid instructor course includes: the roles and responsibilities of the First Aider; assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness, assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness, chest injuries, spinal injuries and anaphylaxis.

Course Venue: RDS Training Centre in Hull, East Yorkshire
Upon confirmation of booking and payment you will be offered the opportunity to collect a textbook to assist you complete assessments 1 & 2 and guidance and support will be available via email.
Whilst at our offices you will undertake training in the delivery of First Aid at Work (allowing you to also teach Emergency First Aid), Paediatric First Aid and defibrillation.

Please inform us of special requirements that you may have, be it personal or dietary in advance or at the beginning of the course. We will always try to assist.
You will be required to produce proof of identity for the course and assessment. Photographic ID is preferable but not essential for example you could bring your driving licence, bus pass, passport, bank card etc.
The assessment paperwork will be sent to the Awarding Organization for processing. Certificates are usually received within 10 working days.
As soon as your payment has been received you will receive a confirmation letter with directions to the training venue.
